We all know we shouldn't date coworkers, but since my company is one of the largest employers in my city I'm kind of wondering where the line is actually drawn.

So a woman I actually work with is obviously off limits. What about women in the same floor, but different department? Building? Other buildings I'd think should be ok... although we have 4 buildings downtown so maybe even that's too close.

So if I'm at a bar one night and meet a branch teller, should she be off limits?

Probably a silly question, but I'm curious.

Nah...not a silly question...I have picked up women from the workplace before. But with this you have to be super careful man...I mean you cant let ANYONE know about it, these sort of things can cost you your job. If you can try and get the co workers who dont work on the same floor or department, that way if something happens...

It wont feel akward or anything....but thats just what I think..

This is a question that only you can answer. It really depends how much you like your job. I would say the possibility of someone not even on the same floor getting you fired is too remote. but it really depends on company policy and again, how much risk you're willing to take.

I've never abided by that rule. Dated plenty of coworkers and yes, it can get a bit awkward if things don't work out but for the most part it's great fun. Keep it professional though, don't display yourselves at the workplace. It'll make things more exciting too because now you'll have your own little secret that nobody else knows.

The point is you should probably not date your boss, supervisor or team lead. Generally people you work with in close relations.
That being said there's no problem in going for the cute blond across your desk or at the next floor since you have no common projects.

My understanding is that most companies are ok with office relationships. Some companies you have to disclose a relationship when it gets serious, and usually only if you and the other person work closely like a manager, team member or supervisor. Like if you're in IT and you were dating the Finance receptionist it's nothing.but if you are in IT and dating you're teammate you'd have to disclose. It comes down whether a relationship could lead to fraud if you 2 work together. Find out the policy at your job. Keep your advances subtle...like don't tell the intern you turn me on so much. If you can date at your job, relax..there's really no risk. Women aren't telling HR he broke up with me so fire him and jeopardizing their own career for you. Worse case is things get awkward.

My understanding, is that there's a reason your asking the question. You are not really seeking an answer, you seeking validation for your desire to fuck a particular girl. A girl you "Sorta" work with.

Permission granted.

LOL. Funny how people make assumptions.

The reality is there's a shit-ton of attractive women in my building, with a higher concentration than I usually see when I go out. Plus once spring/summer hit there's a farmer's market two days a week and on Fridays a band plays outside my building.

All in all it's a good opportunity to do some sarging, which I avoided last year because so many people would be coworkers.

+1 For guys with experience.

R.C. has his shit sorted out. So he can pretty much come and go as he pleases, because 99 times out of 100 he'll be in control of the situation when dealing with a woman from work.

However, if someones shit isn't sorted they could be setting themselves up for a disaster. I.E. Oneitis with a girl you still have to see everyday. Making getting over her and getting by it damn near impossible.
