We all know we shouldn't date coworkers, but since my company is one of the largest employers in my city I'm kind of wondering where the line is actually drawn.
So a woman I actually work with is obviously off limits. What about women in the same floor, but different department? Building? Other buildings I'd think should be ok... although we have 4 buildings downtown so maybe even that's too close.
So if I'm at a bar one night and meet a branch teller, should she be off limits?
Probably a silly question, but I'm curious.
I've never abided by that rule. Dated plenty of coworkers and yes, it can get a bit awkward if things don't work out but for the most part it's great fun. Keep it professional though, don't display yourselves at the workplace. It'll make things more exciting too because now you'll have your own little secret that nobody else knows.
The point is you should probably not date your boss, supervisor or team lead. Generally people you work with in close relations.
That being said there's no problem in going for the cute blond across your desk or at the next floor since you have no common projects.
+1 For guys with experience.
R.C. has his shit sorted out. So he can pretty much come and go as he pleases, because 99 times out of 100 he'll be in control of the situation when dealing with a woman from work.
However, if someones shit isn't sorted they could be setting themselves up for a disaster. I.E. Oneitis with a girl you still have to see everyday. Making getting over her and getting by it damn near impossible.
