Boundaries are just as important to women as they are to children. I've come to the conclusion that there's some evolutionary psychology involved in the sense that: not knowing the "rules" of an interaction in the ancestral environment and social structure you're living in could inadvertantly lead you to breaking them and punishment to occur to you (and your gene line's) detriment.
Setting the frame actually makes the other person feel safer as they know where they stand. They will test the frame to see how strong it is (like bad behaviour) but it's just stress testing.
