I'm a freshman in college, and I hooked up with a girl last night at a party. I like her, and I'm considering making her my gf. I also got her number.

What's my next step? Facebook friend her/talk to her on facebook? Text her? Call her? How long should I wait before doing this? Should I tell her to get a bite to eat with me tomorrow or invite her to watch the nfl playoffs tomorrow with me in my dorm room? Any better ideas?

better idea. your first mistake is wanting to make her you gf already. don't look at it like that. how well do you know her? is this the first time you guys met?

my suggestion would be to wait a day or two. if she calls/texts you the next day even better. tell her your doing something with friends (like watching the game and having some drinks in my dorm) and she should come hang out. group setting is the easiest for comfort building with someone you recently met.

just don't look at like, you want to make her your gf. who knows you may find something out about her you don't like down the line. just go with the flow and if it happens, it happens.

Why would you want to make a girl you hooked up with your gf? Girls usually hook-up with guys to get back at their boyfriends, to validate themselves, a combination of both or for reasons only she would know. Usually when girls hook up with guys, they aren't looking for a day 2, they would much rather move on and look back on the event as "it just happened". Let her be, have her chase you, if she doesn't then c'est la vie, if she does, then get to know more about her and if this some girl you see yourself with for the rest of your life, boink her brains out and make sure she never feels the need to 'hook-up' with another dude again.

Anyway, op, he's right about one thing. Don't take party hookups seriously. As in don't think in terms of making her your girlfriend after one drunken haze, lol. Also, did you have sex? Because hookup means different things to different people and with this forum you can never know.

You can text her. Be casual, light and fun. See where it goes, just don't plan the wedding just yet.

I have met some amazing girls i've hooked with on the same night, the fact that I don't judge girls like that ironically makes girls want to hook up with me faster than the the traditional way or what society expects of them to do. When you say hookup do mean sex or kissing? Either way go for it and try not to be all self conscious about every move you make. I've been there and it's only as weird as you make it.
