Before I ask my question I should provide a little background about myself.
I discovered this community in 2012, after trying to attract my ex-girlfriend who cheated on me and failing...I know, stupid. But I am happy I found this community, as it has helped me significantly in becoming the man I am today. I don't consider myself a finished product, but I have had a great deal of success with women after studying seduction and the pick up arts. Though I don't have a high lay count as logistics have gotten in the way in at least a lot of potential f-closes, I find that every woman I interact with becomes attracted to me. So thank you guys; students and gurus alike. You have saved my life.

Now what I want to ask is this: I started work at a new place and there is a guy there who is a beta male. He is dominant but lacks confidence when it comes to women. He has a way of making everybody afraid of him and so today when I provided some advice (I told him he's pushing women away by doing that) he got angry at me and started to yell. I of course got angry and started to yell back and at one point got into his face. I don't know what happened, but once I got into his face, he started provoking me further and insisting I do something. I maintained eye contact, never blinking once, stayed right up in his face and when he was done, I calmly turned around without saying anything. The problem is, this happened right in front of a girl who is a potential LTR, and in an environment where it seems the alphas get the girls, I'm afraid I got knocked down a peg. This has happened before and I've been able to win arguments and shut threats down, but in this environment o felt especially pressured, and kind of froze. Now I know this is all bad, I should not be territorial and neither should I be putting this girl on a pedestal by trying to be dominant and alpha in front of her however, I was fishing for a way to look confident and alpha anyways and completely froze. That being said, I was wondering if I should abandon this girl or continue trying to seduce her even with him trying to get her... The aforementioned girl was gassing him up, and triangular gazing him afterwards, and when she turned to look at me her pupils were dilated from conversing with him. I feel that she likes him and all chances I have are through...

I understand what you're saying...it's not that she provoked me into fighting, my attraction for her insisted I stand my ground and try to out-alpha or AMOG this guy. I would never fight for a girl, but at the same time, I wouldn't let some guy come and take my target especially when it's a potential LTR and she's shown a million different IOIs

This is silly.

You told him he's pushing women away when the girl you like actually finds him attractive? And theres no "trying to look alpha" by doing some silly display of dominance. You either are it or you're not. Alpha isn't necessarily physical, its just being you and rising to the occasion when someones called to step up to the plate. Not manufacturing situations.

I think the better way to go is to let him know how foolish you were being and why. Set up that truce. You gotta work with each other. And heres always another girl. Let him have her.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I recently just friend-zoned the chick and project a distant, coquettish type demeanor when communicating with her. I know attraction may or may not be there after the incident, but by allowing myself to occupy some of her mental space, while the other dude smothers her with compliments, I may be able to get her attracted again. If not, fuck it, I'm moving on to other girls, not that I haven't already
