Or say
"Listen, my friend really likes you, and hasn't stopped talking about you since he met you, don't fuck with his feelings, he always thinks he is in with girls, and then they get creeped out. Im trying to be a good friend, so just don't lead him on then crush him"

The exact words don't matter, just remember that your coming from the frame of "protecting a friend/ not sabotaging one" Also you want to emphasize that he doesn't get many girls and is clingy when he gets one, even better is if you can subtly contrast him against you. (be careful not to brag or be obvious about this part)

On the flipside, that AMOG might get the girl he could never have thought he would, just because you provided him the opportunity to.

Its a dick move, I know, and not one I would do to a friend. And the term Amog is super old, but the main concept is kinda applicable every once in a while

It works, I've done it loads of times. Not necessarily to AMOG somebody, more to genuinely help my pal (obviously didn't go to plan).

You can get an opener out of it too, ie something along the lines of 'my friend thinks your hot but he's too shy to talk so I'm here to do his dirty work...' They'll almost always be unimpressed with your pal but be happy to keep speaking to you, and if you're smart you can escalate on how she'd prefer you.
