but I have a flip phone. I would love having a smartphone, except I cant afford to have a data plan. AT&T requires a data plan with a smart phone. if you have a smartphone, you have to pay for a data plan, even if you dont need it.
so I am ashamed of taking out my phone. I feel like people will think I am poor (which I am, but dont want to disclose that within the first 5 minutes of meeting someone).
any comments?

Location: Romania | | Honestly I had the same exact problem. Consequently , I made an effort to buy a smartphone. I know it rationally makes no sense , but it helped me to get one , so I did.
In retrospect , I feel that flip-phones are the coolest phones ever created. Nothing compared to the feeling of flippin' the phone shut when you're done talking. However ,I also had the reason that a smartphone is useful to me cuz I'm a computer science student , so I use it for programming stuff and whatnot.
