Classes of drinks - I know nothing!

I know nothing about the classes of drinks. I seem to hear so many different names. Makes me wonder how can any one bar or bar tender be expected to serve all these! I don't drink, so I was thinking - is there any where I could get some sort of a chart of all the drink types? and learn them off. Might help prevent an awkward moment!

Why does this matter anyway?

If you're not into drinking you wouldn't know it anyway? Is that not ok?

I don't know shit about alcohol, I don't like it and yet I'm drowning in vagina...

I'm truthful about it; personally, I don't like alcohol that much or I'm not in the mood to drink or I'll have something simple. I usually limit myself to 1 beer if they are drinking.
