The kid certainly speaks with a confidence and purpose beyond his years.

I did notice that both he and the man kept their hands in their pockets. They should be out and waving or gesticulating to emphasize points in the conversation. Body language was closed for the man, half open half closed for the kid. Also he scripted the openers, "Hi my name is ___, this is my friend ____, what's your name", which weren't that exciting in and of themselves. The camera must've made the approach easier for all parties, as it's an inherent excuse to randomly stop people on the street or in malls nowadays...thus these were NOT true cold approaches.

Also, now that I think about it...the kid's 11 years old, when I was around that age I remember that I could talk to anyone. Opening a conversation with a beautiful woman had no other motives other than talking to her. Thus there was no pressure, no fear. Must be the same in this case.

Yeah, this is the same steps im taking whenever ive gone out, just to get my confidence up.. and its been working. However, I really just want to get some numbers.
