What do you think I should do?
What's up guys? I just have a question regarding my experience with this one girl a few days ago. I'll try to make the story short and to the point.

Background Story

So I met this girl on the train as I was on my way back from a college class. I asked her if she's from my college and she said no and that she has graduated but is from the town. Then she started asking me questions enthusiastically. Basic questions, like where I'm from, etc. So I took all that as IOI's. So I tried to qualify her. I asked her questions about herself and she told me that she's a cardiac nurse and then I told her how much I like and respect nurses and she was flattered. Then I tried to escalate kino. I did some high fives, thumb wrestling, etc. I got her number and when we were about to part ways we hugged. I then texted her a few hours later.

Text Convo

Me: Thanks for helping get around the city nurse!
Her: Ur welcome!! You made my ride more fun.
Me: Meeting a black athletic dude really made ur day huh ?
Her: hahahaha of course
Me: Well dont get any ideas. I have a wife and kids haha jk.
Her: Aww man. I knew there was a catch haha.
Her: How's your day going?
Me: Who knows. You might me my type lol
Her: No reply
After like 5 hours I decided to answer her question "How's your day going?" just to see if she'd reply.
Me: I'm gonna have a pretty busy, been caught up with a lot of things lol
Her: No reply

It's been over a day.

Why would she do something like this? I thought she was into me and felt qualified. What should I do? I considered waiting a day and trying again but I just don't get why she'd do this. lol

You completely spooked her with the "you might be my type" line.

Think you were friend zoned. She saw you as friendly... You said that and she freaked the fuck out.

You could try to reopen in a few days with something random or unrelated but that's an outside chance.

I agree- I think she probably got spooked. It's not the best line to say (even though you might have been thinking it) at least at this stage of the game where you're trying to build mystery and attraction and not trying to reveal that you like her too much.

It's tough, because I don't think it's a terrible line either. It's hard to gauge how girls will react to 'gray area' lines like the one you dropped.


I would wait a few days definitely (maybe even a week) before texting her back lest you look needy and ruin any chance left.

Don't worry though - regardless of the outcome here it was a good experience and at the very least you had fun on what would be an otherwise uneventful train ride.
