Is it a good move to make an effort in being friendly with the target's boyfriend?

My theory is that, by doing this, creates comfort, while I'm targeting the girl I want to get with. This way I don't look like the douche just trying to hit up the boyfriend's girl.. The girl (target) respects the fact that I'm friendly and fun, therefore creating more dhv.. I come across as being non-threatened by her boyfriend.. I become non-threatening TO the boyfriend.. And by becoming friendly with him, also gain myself more time around the girl (target)

Can this be a bad move at all, however?

Too much drama and beating around the bush. Either man up, go for her and face all the bullshit from her boyfriend or just move on to the next girl. There are million other girls out there bro. Why waste so much time and effort on just one girl? You can always hook up with her when she breaks up with her boyfriend later on without the need to lurking around her like that.
