The article talks about "catcalls."
A guy going up to a woman and telling her than shes stunning/cute/sexy/adorable will most likely make her day.
Doing that is very different than a retarded catcall.
Absolutely.
Using any of the above in a genuine and sincere manner would surely be interpreted as a compliment to the majority of women - I don't do a lot of day game, but I've never had a compliment backfire badly on me yet, worst they can really do (social compliance - not to cause a huge scene) is she will just walk away (to that end,
you do not pursue them otherwise it could be seen as harassment) - If you open in day game you should be planted to the spot until the interaction is over unless you both agree to move on or you bounce to go grab a coffee or whatever.
Women put in a lot of effort into their appearance, even if its to do a few errands or to go grab a fresh pint of milk - They want to be noticed but at the same time she does not need to feel threatened or seen as some kind of object.
That feeds back into the whole 'women want to be swept off their feet' scenario - otherwise why would they go through all that effort? If it was to deter advances they'd dress down to become less attractive if they didn't want the attention.
In my personal option I believe they do seek that attention, but it’s to be administered to them in a far less aggressive way, the end result is it should be an enjoyable and comfortable experience for both parties.
To come back on topic, I feel the AO has no practical use in daygame, even if there was one scenario, which I'm not aware of I doubt I'd want to experiment with it.
