Hey guys, I've been flipping through some pages but couldn't find a topic about nicknames.

So as all of you know, my nickname is Wallie, which comes from my 2nd name > Vandewall.

What I experience is that my nickname is way more effective then my normal name: Wallie >> Marc

For instance:
When I've talked to someone a long time ago, and then see him/her again I say: Hey remember me? (no..?). It's me Marc. (still no...?) You know, Wallie!

When I say my nickname they usually respond: Oh yeah...! I remember you!

I believe this works better because nicknames are uncommon names. Marc is a common name in the Netherlands, Wallie is very rare.

What are your experiences with this?

I use nicknames to get iois, and to get women invested since i never give straight answers? You got a be careful not be overly cocky with the nicknames couple of times backfired to me, but i still use this system of using nicknames.

Hb: what is your name?

me: Diesel or sometimes i use smiley

Hb: that is not your real name what is your name?

Me: then i give my real name, unless i get the clinger vibe, then i use a fake real name.

As a man that believes in true core confidence I am completely and utterly against pseudonyms, nick names are ok if you have had them forever or they come from a story but renaming yourself to be someone else is weak. Any time you are faking being someone else you aren't being good at yourself. To me this is a huge problem in the confidence area.

Confidence is about self-assurance, self-certainty, and self-love, you aren't doing any of those things if you aren't even sure enough of yourself to go by your name.

I've got in an argument on my blog when I posted a blog scolding pseudonyms (Fuck Pseudo Names is the name of it), honestly it can be interesting to have an interesting name or YOU CAN JUST BE INTERESTING. Your name has shit to do with building attraction, why the fuck do you have to change it?

Anyone who thinks them adding some bullshit name like Style, Mystery, Gambit, etc. makes them better isn't truly confident in themselves, they are confident in that name. When you read The Game you can even tell that Style had amazing confidence but Neil Strauss not so much because he was confused about who he was.

I am saying this here and now: MYSTERY DIDN'T HAVE TRUE CORE CONFIDENCE IN THE GAME. Anyone with true confidence has a lot more emotional control than him.

You can either have confidence in yourself or in some bullshit name, I personally see working on your fake personality as a complete waste of time.

Just my thoughts.... Take or Leave 'em but keep in mind I'm completely based off of being honest with others and myself. Starting a conversation without even giving your name isn't a sign of confidence, even worse is when you have confidence lying to everyone about your bullshit name.

The other reason to use nicknames or fake names, is because if you are seeing multiple women in a small area or social circle(which is the case no matter how big the city is, some demographics hang out in the same places) and/or you have a gf.... Women and HER FRIENDS will look for you in Facebook or google, and if they find you then are fucked, also nicknames and fake names help with the clingers and stalkers, there are a lot of public puas that have lost many women when they identity are reveal, specially if you are part of this community you do not want your name out there, you will get into deep shit... The whole point of the community and the nicknames is for the above reason...

I personally don't believe my nickname is fake, friends call me wallie, girly friends call me wallie, people at work call me wallie, classmates, other people who know me. It's a name which is quite familiar with people, cause even unknown people who haven't spoken with me at all, recognise me by my nickname. It kinda makes me popular (or social proof) which in my case is a good thing.

If I am ever too embarrassed to perform an action I will not perform that action. I do keep my actions private and it is understood that is how it must stay, however I never deny what happened. In fact I always admit it if I get interrogated about my behaviors.

I am a man who does things within my character and am not dishonest about them. If I were in a relationship my advice wouldn't change but I would not be out picking up on girls at work, bar, wherever. I am a man of honesty and if I have to hide my behaviors I'm not being honest. My behaviors do not embarrass me, my words are not lies so I have no reason to hide. My actions do not hurt others so I do not need to worry about them.

I know how to identify the behavior of a crazy girl, it's not very hard. I don't bring girls back to my spot so...... Yeah I got it worked out so that the crazys don't own me or a part of my life.

It is my belief that if you have to be dishonest with those you care about most about your behaviors then you will reap the unfortunate inevitable negative consequences. Don't act as though you deserve better when you reap them though, your behaviors earn you that bad karma.

I don't judge, I've made a ton of mistakes and will undoubtedly make more in the future but I know this much the minute I have to hide my name due to behaviors is the day I'm not the confident man I am now.

Different situation I was more talking about the guys that come on here into the community and then start a name to be confident gaming under their fake personality. Similarly I have a nickname I've been called since I was a child.

The idea that a fake name will give you and advantage or fake personality is laughable, as i said, a fake name could be part of flirting, cocky funny, or to dismiss girls, FAKE NAME OR NOT, does not affect game, confidence,personality etc... This was my point right here, there is no need to change your name. It's a stupid fucking tool tactic for you to change your own name. If someone gives you a new nick name so be it (I've been given different nick names in different circles) but for you to think it's cool to create your own name makes no sense.

Wallie has been going by it for a minute, entirely different situation, as I mentioned when I rebutted him.

I'm not some guy who need Aliases, you aren't talking about nick names you are talking about aliases. You need different names so they can't find you, that is needing aliases. I don't do anything that requires aliases, I am confident as myself and in myself.

Skills why do you think it is a rational behavior to rename yourself? Skills you got Diesel from someone else, you didn't just start going by it, someone said you looked like Vin Diesel.

Some of these guys come on here and think of some moniker to go by when they go talk to girls. It isn't a confident behavior, this is a problem. If you can't even go by your own name because you need to make one up to "re-invent yourself" then you aren't "re-inventing yourself" or bettering yourself you are creating a new self.

It's not a mental masturbation topic, you are straight up missing the point. I believe in a True Core Confidence becoming a man confident in all your actions, if you aren't even confident enough to go by your own name then how can you be confident being yourself? This is about a man gaining true confidence not his second personality gaining it.

I have given a fake name fucking around, not the same thing as giving someone a fake name. I honestly don't care about it when it is joking around, it really is when someone is making up a name to get laid or worse needing a made up name to get laid.

I'm done with this topic, I just wanted to mention how creating a pseudo personality and name is ridiculous.

Look man, sometimes some people styles, is with fucking around, joking around, and flirting... For example, i joke around a lot, cause i like it, it is not needed but i enjoy it, my enjoyment and my craziness is my real personality, so i use it as part of pick up, no that there needs to be a right or wrong way, and not that i feel insecure, a girl ask me what i do for living? i would say to fuck around, i am a boy toy, you may think is stupid, but i enjoy it, and i like to make them work for answers(investment), you may not agree with that approach, but is what i like ...Key word I, i am not a boy toy by profession, i just use it as part of my self amusement, and to use humor as part of seduction, they ask me what is my name? i say diesel, as a joke to get her to laugh, since i resemble the actor, it has nothing to do with personality and confidence... Pick up is not a linear model, as you know... My real name, it is a name that girls are name as well(it is a name that can be use by men and women), when i give my real name i tell the girls "it is a girls name i know"... self deprecating humor, sarcasm... A name, aliases, nick name does not influence pick up imo...

You might want to read my post, it will help you a little. Stop just seeing what you want to see, we found common ground. I admitted joking around with a nick name is different (didn't even finish the post did you?). It is super frustrating when you don't even have the courtesy to clearly read what I wrote. You ignore very important parts of my discussion, wouldn't include it if it was useless.

Don't just start rebutting without reading the post it reflects very poorly on you and really makes you look ignorant skills, I know you better than that and expect more from you.

We aren't discussing pick up by the way we are discussing confidence. Confidence is the foundation to a happy life and easier pick up.

Pick up may not be linear, but True core Confidence is linear - YOU HAVE IT OR YOU DON'T. Getting girls has shit to do with True Core Confidence, you just need to be confident with girls to get girls. True Core Confidence is confidence in yourself and your actions at all times.

I also agree with joking around and flirting, I constantly do both. As it ended I was referring to people who make up a pseudonym and a personality for it in the PUA community not a nick name you go by. As I said I have different nick names given to me in different circles but they are given not a made up personality I made up for different names. There really is a difference between the two.

With my style of game the name makes no difference the game does.

This is where we differ:

I am memorable, my name is what I go by.

You need a name to be memorable. - Yes this is exactly how I take it.

People remember me, maybe not always my name but they remember me. I don't give a fuck if they don't remember my name, honestly it isn't offensive to me and my ego isn't that large that I feel I am that important that everyone should remember my name but they usually remember me.

If you gain game you don't need that bullshit name and frankly it disappoints me that you of all people see value in such an aesthetic concept. Yes to me this is an aesthetic concept.

You realize you agreed with me already? You don't need a fake name, you just need game, that is how I see it. If you need a name then can you really claim confidence in yourself? I am big on confidence it's not a big thing in the community, its more results orientated. Getting laid is more the thought process then just confidence. I see confidence as an inevitable necessity in becoming a good seducer, so I believe you should start with it and never go against building it higher.

The op feels more confident using wallie, it is not needed it is unimportant, but in his head it is more effective, therefore he will show more confidence using wallie... For me all of this back and forth is not a big deal poetic, i understand you are disappointed, but that is beyond my control, i am posting an opinion about a "silly subject" ... I personally use nicknames, since club women have short attention spam, they do not even pay attention to your name, i like them to ask me for my real name and make them work for it, i also like to make them laugh, i accomplish those 3 things with my silly nickname, also the silly nickname helps me for marketing... I can not just sit here for the sake of our friendship to agree with you and change my position, i still love you dude, but for me this is silly... Confidence is important, but i stopped thinking about confidence about 10 years ago since is already on autopilot...I do not worry much about other pick up artists, community etc... I was referring to a pseudonym similar to that of Mystery, Gambit, Tyler Durden, Style, etc. A name to change who you are into, that is what I am referring to. When you create a whole persona to go by just to get laid. This as I've already mentioned at least 2 other times as well.
