What are your views on using emoticons while texting, facebook messaging etc.?

Should they not be used at all? Or are there exceptions for some emoticons?

only ones i use r happy face and cheeky wink, use them where appropriate but dont go nuts. use them a bit more for girls in there late teens early twenties, some girls in there 30s and over will prob think its a bit immature.

If she uses them, you can use them. I go minimalist.

Depend on your demographic, if you game girls younger than 30, yes! If you game older girls, then only use it when flirting, keep it at minimum.

I don't use them unless I'm trying to build rapport.

If I'm flirting with the thought that I want to fuck them that night, that lack of emoticons triggers parts of their brain to wander if I'm being serious or not.

That's just me and my thought process though.

Girls can't read emotions in a text message, so if you need to convey a certain emotion then you need to throw in a  or an LOL or a Haha...etc.

If you over use them then they lose their effect and become useless!

Peace...
