Hi
I live in an area where there is a lot of gay people. this area is famous for being home to gays.
When I am talking to a girl, sometimes I say "I live in this area, where all the gay people live" if she takes it well (laughs, for example) I say "But i'm not gay, I am straight"
I am looking for ways to make this more humorous/interesting
or is this a bad idea and i should stop doing it?

Dont say that line, just say Yea im from San franciso, I swear im the only straight one there, just the other day I was walking and a guy smacled my ass and called me cute... I mean like damn gay guys dont fuck around, I mean they do *wink* but seriously they want something and they go after it... damn!

Playing with gay jokes is always risky.
I find that having a wingman can make them work.
Example, my friend and I will approach women in the mall.
And I'll go up to women with him and say.
"Excuse me can you settle something for my friend and I?"
When they reply I ask.
"Which of us would you say is gay"

Now normally they say me, just because I dress verrryyy metrosexual.
He on the other hand looks like a damn manly lumberjack.
But occasionally we'll get the response.
"Well I would say you, but he's the one being quiet about it. So I would say your friend".
And based off of their response we choose one of 4 pre determined routines we go into and then freestyle the conversation pieces after the full opening.

Conclusion, it can be done. And it can make some women laugh.
But in the same respect some women have a problem with it.

I find that a lot of openings are a 50/50 thing no matter how well though out, usually because women have things they are looking for in conversation specifically. And being as most women are different they are looking for something different.

I actually pulled off a David Bowie opening that I found on this site, and I had luckily done it on a girl who actually knew who he was and liked him.
So it was funny as hell.

Go right ahead and if you want to have fun with it add your own spin. Remember picking up is meant to be fun not a chore. Try and add your personality to it and you'll have a better story then any one else who uses the same exact lines.
