First, I'll talk about what in my opinion constitutes the problem. When Americans hear a non-american accent, there are 2 pre-conceived notions. Either you're from one of the places deemed exotic, cool and interesting Eg: UK, Australia, France and other countries in eastern Europe, or you're from the places most Americans dismiss as "The third world". Eg, Latin America, Africa, SE Asia, India, etc and the image that comes to mind is starving children and corrupt governments.
Now I'll talk about a solution I've found works. Confidence and body language. You've got to believe 100% in your openers and believe they will work. Practice delivering your openers to an empty room if necessary. You've got to be able to say it clearly without them asking "What did you say?". It can be pretty deflating when you have to repeat yourself to girls 2-3 times because they don't understand your accent, and you can easily lose confidence doing this. By the way, if you get the confidence and body language down, you'll realize girls will be even more attracted to "This guy from India, who's actually really cool and confident!". Of the few girls I've had success with, their reaction has always been, "Wow, I've never met a like you"
Btw, I'm from a country in west Africa with as much cultural diversity as India (won't say the country name here), and I face the same problems you do, that's why I understand exactly what you're talking about. Good luck, buddie
i completely agree.
