I give out a lot of advice, please return the favor and try to help me out here... all comments appreciated

i am in a position i have never been in before. me and this girl have been acquaitences for the past couple months, not really friends, just peers. so i invested a lot in her over the past 2 months, but i realized i was initiating all the convo. i said to myself, i will not talk to her until she starts the convo, so for three weeks, we barely said a word to each other until she worked up enough guts to start something. but i realized, i cant talk about anything with her. i dont freeze up by any means, i just cant start talk on a topic. we only have study hall together so there isnt really a situational opener i can use. What i need from you guys is a special kind of opener. not one to attract a girl, or a pick-up opener. just a simple sentence to start discussion on a topic. i mean i swear, it is easier to start conversation with a HB20 who has a bitch shield while being CB'd. wtf is goin on? Im going to take a good hard think about it.

Just talk about what's happening in your school (or w.e she is).

How the weather is, current events in the news, any new music/albums she listens to, etc.

What do you talk to any other person about on a daily basis?

when it comes down to it your still going to have to make that approach

dude just fuckin anything. pick up a newspaper, find a controvertial issue, and boom. ask her if she has read a common book, what her favorite movie is (that one ususally goes for EVER cuz once you ask why its on and on, maybe stay away from that one actually lol). find out if she is taking study hall to help her with a specific class. why she chose that perfume, what made her decide to streak her hair, how much money she wasted on a pair of already ripped jeans, where does she work, oh ya you go there all the time/never been there! endless possibilities my friend. enjoy.

Here's something that will always work:

"Hey, lemme get your opinion on something."

Don't let this line fool you, it can be used anytime with devastating results. From here you could take her answer and progress to a DHV story, or if you're completely blank get her opinion on a related issue ("so what do you think of _____ about _____ then?"), or neg her on what she says or how she says it, switch to another topic by mentioning she wiggles her nose or something when she's thinking too hard, etc. etc.

It's golden, I know! So use it!

Something has to be on your mind from day to day. News stories, things like that. There is always something going on. And fark.com always has some really interesting headlines that are good for all sorts of convo.
