Interestingly, though, there have been several studies just recently coming out about HIV and how incredibly difficult it is actually to catch...people have known this for years and have been not revealing it in an attempt to keep the fear factor rolling. I think this is loading the "Stats." As we all know, 80% of all Stats are made up.lol

I do think it interesting in the small amount of people who have replied here, only one has actually tested positive for something...again, there ARE too many factors to make this substantial, but I do find it interesting already...I still think there is a whole BS factor that is blown way out of proportion...and I get my results Fri..lol

i just don't understand the logic behind trying to convince oneself that std's are not a major deal, not all that common, or not all that dangerous.

aids kills three million people a year.

it is real.

what does it matter about the odds?

would you play russian roulette if there were twelve slots in the cylinder instead of six?

would you jump into the water if there was only one shark instead of five?

i personally know dozens of people who have had gonorrhea, chlamidia, hpv, and other diseases.

if you have not contracted one of these diseases (or something worse) up until now, it's not because there is a conspiracy to brainwash the masses not to have sex,

it is because you have been LUCKY, very very LUCKY.

What I do is always use condoms until the girl becomes a regular, then we both get tested again and then I can not use a condom, and make sure we both use condoms if/when we see our other non-regular partner(s) or ONSs

Chances of getting an STD in the UK is one of the lowest rates in the world, around a 0.4% chance, and that's even lower if you're having sex with relatively well educated women from London.

Alas, we finally disagree a bit...haha

Why try to disprove it?

1) if it ain't the truth, why believe in it...cause all sorts of control and psychological problems occur as a result of this, many of which we can't see.

2) Stress through fear and other sources of control actually make life, in the long run, shorter and less free.....

The same thing happened to me when I lived in IN. I would travel out to work at night and there was a stretch of road that was 3 miles long, straight as an arrow. When I turned onto it, my Civic SI was at 115 mph in no time and held there till the end of that stretch. EVERYONE was telling me, "Casey, there are soooo many deer out there, you are stupid, you are just going to hit one, one of these nights."

Maybe, but I kept doing it.lol So, for 2 years I did this and only 1 incident that was somewhat (not really) close to this circumstance. So, statistically, 365 * 2 give mes a 1 and 730 chance of this happening....lol So in REALITY, this really isn't LUCKY that I didn't hit a deer, it is actually MOST LIKELY, I wouldn't. I feel it is similar to this STD thing...and again, when people live out of fear and control, THAT is when things like that actually come to fruition more than not...

And side note: My results came today and I am clean. phhheeew Now, this has certainly made me think through this issue again, but I think there needs to be a balance about not giving it any thought, but also NOT living in fear of these SUPPOSED high risks! When we get in our car everyday we don't worry about it to the point where we don't drive places...and the chances of a car wreck are easily as probable as STD's....;)

Regarding this conversation about odds, i'm pretty sure I read somewhere (correct me if i'm wrong) that 20-30% of people in USA have herpes, therefore if you have unprotected sex with 10 people, there is a 89.2% chance that you will subtract herpes from one of them (based on it being 20% have herpes).

Now, i enjoy stats, however I do like thinking outside the box, and if this was the case and 89% of people who sleep with 10 girls unprotected subtracted herpes, the stat would lie MUCH higher than 20% surely!

i don't think the issue at hand is the odds.

i think the issue at hand is the potential outcome.

basically, death.

or something less worse like never being able to show your cock in the light of day again.

ever see horribly disfigured genitalia absolutely destroyed by genital warts?

*shudders*

anyway, 1 in 10, 1 in 100, 1 in 1000...

whatever...

if someone said "hey, stick your dick in this blender, and there is only a 1 in 1000 chance i will turn it on"...

would you do it?

Well, obviously not, but when it comes down to sex and testostorone it's a completely different situation I think.

However when all is said and done, HIV, herpes and whatever another diseases are out there are not worth catching, and if it's the difference between a quick shag, for something that could change/end your life completely, then I know what I'd choose. Although try and tell me that after a bottle of vodka!

Slept with 78 girls

1 chronic STD

1 abortion

No kids brought to term

Sex was prolly 70% protected, 30% unprotected.

Lol the term chronic pretty much says it.

Its all about balance you both have good points but its all about balance.

The thing is we are men. And we are players. The very thing that makes us so enticing to women is that we are risk takers. And with risk takers rules need to be set up so you dont screw yourself.

Just like in ufc, they have rules and precautionary measures so they dont get permanently brain damaged despite risky behavior.

Its the same thing with sex, dont skip the protocol. Take precautions, such as condoms, dont go bareback with a chick whos questionable. Get tested regularly. Dont be stupid basically.

In the end of the day, when you know you taken all steps, you just say fuck it im enjoying this shit.

I used to do a lot of rec drugs. Alot for a long long time. Most of the dumb decisions I made regarding sex were a direct result of my frequent use of hard drugs.
