Ha ha Freud was a genius an innovator and a crack pot when it came to understanding the mind. He is the father of most social psychology so i would say its pretty reasonable to quote him.
Ha ha if you are part of the new wave PUA's, i don't expect you to appreciate the Game in the understanding peoples motivations or Psychology. But this is an open thread and you wanted opinions so theres mine.

Actually, I' not much of a fan of new wave PU...
Nearly every school of psychology rejects Freudian principles. The only reason Freud is so important is that he was the first to propose a sub-conscious (and one that could generate internal conflict).
Piaget, Harry Harlow, Mary Ainsworth, John Bolwby, Lorenz and Vygotsky are far more important figures in Developmental psychology and none of them take on the "oral, anal, phallic" principle which Freudian theories revolve around.
Modern cognitive psychology is largely based on people like Turing, Chomsky and Neisser.
As for social psychology, Freuds writings have almost no impact on social psychology.
Freud himself did not conduct proper experiments, much of his research was based on ad hoc assumptions and introspection.
Freud is not in any way a leading figure in modern psychology. He's interesting from a historical perspectve but not from a informed one.
