The girl doesn't hear guys telling her 'they'll never get along' and whatnot. She will feel as if you don't need her, because you got options. You can have anybody you want.
It also takes away any potential needy behavior. She will no longer fear that you will become needy and will start flirting with you. Of course at which point you flirt back, and then disqualify again! God I love to play that confusing push/pull game. It drives them crazy.
