Hey guys,

So my problem is; sometimes I get really impatient when something doesnt go my way. I snap for no reason to the people and get angry "easily" and make really quick decisions without thinking. I also walk really fast and get "mad" when someone is slowing me down, specially on the road. My friend today pointed me out today and told me I was very impatient and its only today that I realize it...Better late than never I guess...

Is there any tips you guys use or any book to be more patient toward people?

Let me guess you have anxiety and/or control issues. I have run into people like you more than once. The best way really do deal with this is learn to calm down and not get worked up, even then you are never going to remove this problem from you as it is part of who you are this is not to say you can't get a grip on it. Taking yoga or taking a walk by your self will help as well as taking deep breaths when you are getting worked up will also help.

You need to identify what is making you angry and anxious and actually deal with it. You are displacing your aggression.

As I mention you can certainly work on it and improve it, but you are never going to remove it from you completely. You may think so, but I am just telling you the reality of it. Saying that besides what I mention, you should also seek out things that relax you no matter what they are. If that means you jumping out of a plan and falling out of the sky so be it (with a parachute I hope), if it relaxes you then all the better. Just because something may not seem relaxing does not mean it isn't relaxing.

Start meditating on a daily basis. Look up zazen meditation. Do that for 5 minutes every day. Don't skip days. This will actually change your brain's structure in a positive way and you'll be cool like a cat. Stay away from excessive and unnatural stimulation like video games.

Fill your iPod/mp3 player with chill, sweet lounge music. That does the job for me.

Your going to have to learn to operate from your highest personality traits and avoid acting out on your negative ones good character traits like: being humble, present, selfcontrol, man, calm, sharp, learning, accountable, loving, strong, gratefull etc...
Versus the negative charater traits that allow poor behaviour like: arrogance, hype, actingout, bordem, panic, procrastination, tantrums, egotism, reactive, immiturity, impatients etc...
Acknowledging it is a big part to the solution so congratulations on something that is hard for some to admit. You either conquer self or self will conquer you.
peace.
