Just a word of advice.. Never use canned openers unless your already established with the girl. And by then you won't need them.

I say this because, you aren't in the same mind set and the creator of the opener so how could you continue the conversation?

Actually, I think canned pick up lines work really well. But here's the caveat: they must either be extraordinarily lame (like the one debated above) or shockingly outrageous (e.g. the Anger Management line, which I've successfully field tested). Think about it, if you bring a lame one with humor, you're picking her up whilst making fun of of the whole PU thing. If you bring a shocker, you show you have balls. And both times she's aware of what you're doing. But doesn't the same happen in a direct approach? And that works well if you have game.

If you're gonna use any kind of opener, use a genuine one. Don't use something that's CLEARLY a pick up line and is so predictable. That's just lame.

Use openers if you have to. From your own life and your own words. Be original

Dude dont use canned opener, just be genuine and say "hi i think you're cute". You might think girls hear that a lot but not many guy has balls to come out straight forward like that, you will be surprised. Also it drops you out of friendzone immediately

You forget the most basic point of PU--in my eyes anyway. And that is to have fun. Don't be so serious and forget about rules. If I feel like telling a girl that I'm "on the verge of exploding in my pants" I'll open with that. And 9 times out of 10 it leads to a really fun interaction. If you can deliver it right Remember, you can say absolutely anything, if you say it the right way.

@tao: I use direct openers if I feel like it. But sexual and tremendously inappropriate openers achieve the same thing, with the slight difference that they are way more fun. I think your advice is great for rAFCs but not for someone who has success with whatever he feels like doing at a particular moment.

You're mistaken. We're all sexual beings. Women love sex just as much as men do. The point isn't to "hide" anything. A sexual, confident and dominant man is the sexiest thing a woman can imagine. You want to be sexual. That's the whole point.

@panda: Nice little write up, and I agree with almost all of it. But I wonder, why be so insistent that only one way, and a narrow one at that, is the right one? Why insist that your style is the only one that works? I mean, congrats for advancing from a routine monkey to a real human being. But someone who's never run anything but natural game doesn't need all the guidance to kick the routine habit. So while using "script" is garbage, using bad lines from movies or cheesy openers for the hell of it is perfectly okay. Hell, it's actually a lot of fun, as long as you don't take yourself seriously.

In short, here's the caveat to your linked threat. It's great guidance for (r)AFCs, a crutch in essence. But once you move beyond that stage, you can forget everything you wrote and just BE yourself. I, for one, have no problem going out on a Tuesday to get laid, if I feel like fucking that day. Yes, girls pick up on that, as they must if they are to end up in my bed. Trick is to own up to it and FC anyway (k-loc preaches that gospel very well btw). And as for "who are these people to me anyway," they are a bunch of strangers, many of whom are fun, interesting, maybe even fascinating on some level. For all I know, the joint is full of a whole score of potential new friends, ONSs, FBs, GFs, etc.
