I agree--think of it this way: if a guy learns to dress appropriately and learns some manners because it makes it easier to meet girls, would you look at him as doing something wrong? No--you'd see him growing up and learning social conventions. Kind of like the "dress for the job you want, not the job you have" mentality. If people do that, we applaud them for being ambitious. If a guy learns PU, people knock them for doing something deceptive. But they're really the same thing.
For some guys, yes--it is a mask they don in order to get something, and underneath it is the same old person. But a good number of PUA's incorporate the skills they have, the way of life, into their lives. They grow as human beings, they stretch.
So the question becomes--are you looking to date the best, slickest, most-difficult-to-call-out PUA? Or are you looking for the best partner? That will help you choose.
