Get your head straight! You're complaining about a chest of gold because it's heavy. When I first came to these shores, the accent alone did all the work for me. All of it. And if you're ever at a loss, just open with
anything, then play the guess where I'm from game (or tell her a clear lie about your origin), eventually let her know where you're from, and voila: you just made yourself interesting/different and have had a natural convo without thinking about it. What again was your problem?
