I was reading a few posts on the forum, and I noticed that someone mentioned peacocking is outdated.

And i was wondering, is there anything else outdated now?

& as an after thought, are there any aspects that people have copped on to in terms of gaming, or are they more or less in the dark?
Thanks

No way! Being different will always be fashionable, But if everyone was over the top like a peacock, its best you dressed in a smart suit.

Technology will always and develop and move on, but alot of the terms pua's refer to are standard things that occur in the human mind and they way we socialize, so they might never change.

If anything was going to be outdated it could be in terms of use of language. But thats as close to agreeing with you as i could be.

Essentially, the whole Mystery method is outdated.

If you were to try it, it probably wouldn't work. And there is a good chance that the girl would book you on it. Style, Mystery, etc. have been on almost every tv show explaining how it works.

MM is pretty outdated but it's still a good foundation for anyone new to the game. Things like never excusing yourself or apologizing, never buying girls drinks, emotional progression model etc, these are not rules, but guidelines. If you've never read MM, I still suggest that you do, and then keep up with some of the more updated material. I tend to enjoy Sinn, VinDiCarlo, and EntropyPUA, among others.

I don't think that MM is really outdated...you can still find girls that don't know this shit or really don't care. If they catch on to you example:" Hello Mystery (or something like that)" you just confess or neg. I think you can still get the girl, if you pass this shit test.

Also, whilst rarely doing this, I agree with the concept that you should have an intersting item on you.

MM is based on psychology much of which pre-dates PUA. Negs, DHV and social proof for example are based on proven deeply instinctive female behaviour ingrained over hundreds of generations. And because they operate at the subconcious instinctive level they work even when the subject knows what is going on. Let me give you an example - you see a girl you really like acting all touchy-feely with another guy, you would feel jealousy even if you knew she was with that guy deliberately to make you jealous.

Of course its in the industries interest to keep reinventing the same principals under various different funky names to keep you shelling out the cash.

but then again, 90% of MM is based on bullshit reverse engineered psychology to make things simple for the social r-tards of the world.

It's good to begin with...but once you get the confidence and all those things in order, you should drop it and be yourself.

As a woman, I can tell you that the MM is not outdated. Its just gotten into too many of the wrong hands.

A million and one AFC toolbags read The Game and now sprint up to everything with a vagina wearing a stupid hat and spouting some bullshit about two girls fighting outside. I've seen it once, I've seen it a million times.

However the foundation of the MM is still solid when used properly. False-disqualifiers, negs, time constraints, social proof, not telescoping interest, even peacocking to some extent - are still good.

i ve got the thinking that its not the words that you say its the concept. the major problem with any methodology mm, ss, dyd and even puatraining is that the student copies the lines word for word with no variation, they dont create their own lines or patterns or routines they just use the examples given because they think it is a pure guaranteed success so of course the lines and routines are recycled over and over again so of course it becomes outdated!
now without sounding funny some students follow it word for word then when they get an unexpected response they get stuck and then of course they freeze up and dont know what to do

True, but if you're someone whos only just started gaming and getting over the fear of approaching a group of complete strangers, it's harder for you to be able to come up with your own stuff because you're not socially calibrated.

I've only been reading up and practicing PUA for a couple of weeks now, and whenever I've gone our sarging I've used lines from various PUA. Hopefully as I become more experienced, I'll be able to begin making up my own stuff.

I think Zephyrine has hit the nail on the head there, though.

Just my two cents. Went out to MANY clubs last night. Everyone male seems to wear necklaces and rings interesting shirts ect. ALTHOUGH i study in town, and you wont see this during the day. Or these same people (some of them i know) dont dress like that during the day. Which means they only do it to look good when they go out. This doesnt mean they know of the game or whatever, but they know what they are doing.

Personally i prefer day game, its not taht im bad at clubs. Its just i dont like the SPAM and i go out occasionally. But it really made me think, if you want to 'peacock' in a club, you will need to dress more extreme. haha. Compared to everyone else in there.
