Setting up a day 2 can be a bitch, after many trial and errors i have personally found a few things. I have always found that texting is the worst, you can never convey the tone of the conversation over text and it leaves too much for her own Interpretation, something you think is cocky funny might not work in text and you will loose all that hard work etc. so i think calling her is best. This can be awkward if you don't know what to say or have no plans for the date. You need to know what your gonna do, at what time, where to meet or if you will pick her up, how long for etc. this way you are taking charge and there is no uncertainty. You don't really need to tell her every detail but when she asks a question about your date you have the answer straight away. There is nothing worse than turning your plans into a discussion of where to go and what to do, for one you appear less confident and it can sometimes lead to an argument and takes time away from working your magic on her.
When to call/contact her should be determine by when you met her. say it was a Friday night don't call the next day and try and arrange a date, chances are she has plans already, you best bet is to call early the next week before she has plans, or give her time to change any, if you have played it right your more likely to get a positive response. If you have listened or talked to her enough to know a bit about what she does you could include that when u ask her out, something like " i know u have blah blah blah at 4, so why don't we meet up at 3 and blah blah blah" this way you have a time constraint so u wont run out of things to say and you can avoid sharing too much detail about ya self leaving more to talk bout the next time you meet.

Don't take this advice as gospel as i am sure there are hundreds of approaches to the day2 just keep your eye out for similar posts cause this seems to be a pretty big sticking point.
