hey guys,
i read the david shade eye contact theory yesterday. for those who aren't familiar with it, what he basically says is that men shouldn't stare but lock eye contact with women. from there, it goes two ways: either she is not interested and breaks it (or interested but too shy to keep staring), either she is interested and eventually breaks it by making her move (saying hi, smiling). another part of it is that we shouldn't blink, and shouldn't make a move before she does (which isnt a necessary rule to follow, i mean you can use a good opener and keep locking her eyes...). also, he establishes that women who are walking-standing respond more often to eye contact than those who sit.
so i've tried it today. i often use the train (seat-seat situation), and i planned to lock women's eyes. indeed, none of them kept eye contact with me while sitting. when i was walking, some of them kept it locked until they passed me. yet, none said hi or even smiled. i haven't tried any opener after locking eye contact yet thought.
since we often say the eyes are the reflection of our soul (even on body language materials, it is regularly said that you can fake it but the eyes don't lie), i think that's an interesting part.
so i wondered what were the pua's thoughts, strategies, theories or experiences on the eye contact part. what are the rules you follow? thanks for sharing all that
