An outline of oneitis.

There are so many one-post-wonders dealing with "this girl from school that I have liked for so long" or "my friend just broke up with her ex and I wanted to..."

Anything in general about dealing with (or getting over) oneitis would help weed down all these threads.

Questions about dealing with loud venues is another newbie Q im really sick of seeing. That question is usually just an excuse for social anxiety, anyway. "Oh, I'm not actually scared of talking to strangers loudly and proudly, I just have this issue with the loudness..." goddamn excuse artists...

EDIT: I just checked the current Newbie FAQ thread and noticed that this issue is already addressed in there, and so many newbies STILL bring this up. What the hell? Loud music is like the easiest obstacle to conquer... but I guess it IS the easiest thing to make your excuse.

Depending on how long the FAQ is going to be you could give a very brief introduction to the different 'schools' of pick-up (Mystery Method, NLP based ones, David DeAngelo's C&F stuff etc). Just a quick overview of what each method is like to give beginners enough info to decide which road they want to go down.

Maybe a brief introduction with some examples of concepts or techniques that are fundamental to pick-up regardless of what method you use (qualification, escalation (kino and otherwise), opening etc).

In general I wouldn't make it too long or give too extensive a list of books for people to read. The purpose of the FAQ should be to give newcomers enough that they can get out in the field asap. If you give them a list of 50 books to read then a lot could take that as an excuse to spend 5 years reading before actively using this stuff.

And now to completely contradict my last paragraph, I think 'The Power of Now' by Ekhart Tolle should be added to the reading list

JSquared thanks for doing this, and telling me about it last night. Here is the information as we discussed.

Bonita previously mentioned wanting to post a list of IOIS. List of IOIs I've posted before. I'm always directing guys to this.
iois-the-completed-list-vt12718.html?highlight=ioi

Also, here is a huge list of negs...
ultimate-negs-collection-vt9080.html?highlight=ultimate

A great collection of openers...
collection-of-pua-openers-and-add-yours-vt8124.html

I also get a lot of questions being asked where they can find information on Facebook and MySpace Sarging.

Facebook
facebook-methodfield-tested-approved-vt19004.html

Myspace
the-myspace-methods-vt8252.html

The other thing I see asked a lot is good blogs to read. I personally like the following Blogs. Feel free for you guys to add what you want as well, I think these have good content.

Sinn
http://sinnsofattraction.blogspot.com

Captain Jack
http://www.betheseducer.com

AFC Adam
http://afcadam.com

El Topo
http://the-red-mole.blogspot.com

Zip
http://zippity-zip.blogspot.com

*Something else I see get asked a whole lot is what is a freeze out and how long do I do it for.

*Yet again, another big question asked all the time in the Newbie section is how long to wait before calling a girl back. I know we all vary our opinions on this a bit but a general guideline would be good.

I further agree that good books are:

The Game
Rules of the Game - Great 30 day challenge
Venusian Arts Handbook
My Secret Garden

Obviously, we need a list of common PUA terms to be updated and completed as well.

Just a few thoughts for now....:)

Hey Punky I like what your talking about with an introduction to each school of pickup. However, I will not discuss David D as a school of pickup because, cocky funny is actually just being sarcastic and funny. Its not a method, its a way you act. If you aren't sarcastic you can't pull it off.

Also as to the books. I will be giving two different lists. There will be a few books that guys should read to be able to get out in field. The rest will be for advancement.

With that being said, Rye I know we said the Body Language book is a must read. But I don't see it as beneficial to someone who's just getting in-field. It would give guys to much to think about, and they would then forget what to say. I think body language should be an intermidiate step. As far as learning all the tidbits to it.
