Dear Ace,
How are Cat, Krtyon and the rest of the boys?
Are workshops worth it? Hoenstly? it depends...It sounds like you actually haven't done very much live practice in field yet. Really that's the key to getting good.
Whether you do it with friends, or pay for a workshop doesn't really matter. Either way the harder you work at it the better you get.
So really the question is how motivated are you?
AFC Adam,
Spanners is good chum!
When i found the community i was full of enthusiasm and good intentions, but that's slowly been chipped away as i haven't been able to afford to sarge regularly, maybe every 3-4 weeks. Money worries & getting stuck in a rut haven't helped!
A recent thing happened though. Last Saturday night i got chatting to a girl dancing. Now this girl was your average clubgirl, guys were going up o her, getting blown off. So i thought 'what the hell' and starting chatting to her.
I had to initiate the convo a few times, but she got some interest and i suggested we get something to eat. She agreed, and we left, only for her to say she needed to find her sister. So we walked around the side of the club with me, alone, and she tried ringing her while we chatted. I realise now that was the moment to grab the nettle and man up and make a move, but i didn't. She eventually found her sister and went back inside after losing interest.
And that's what i've learned, i picked apart my own performance and realised i made the mistakes, i failed to respond. I didn't gain her trust, or her sisters'. Usually this would leave me angry with myself, but this time i chuckled ruefully when i recalled my sober-ish efforts.
And it's starting to inspire me again, i can learn if i put the effort in. Do you have any suggestions for me to start off with?
