Ok,here's a question...

I'm like 18 years old but I still have a lot of acne on my face...It really makes me feel uncomfortable but I'm already taking a special cream for on my face to keep it down a bit + I'm going sunbathing because that kinda makes the acne dry etc. etc.

Still I have a lot of acne...and I was wondering if it's a turn-off ??

Greetz,

Sneejk

hey u alright, well its not an attractive trate to have. i had a situation like yours about a year ago, i was heavy into body building and i got acne on my face back and chest wen i had it i still managed to get with girls probably a very similar success rate, because i was confident the girls still found me attractive and every1 knows that they will go after a while anyway so theyre just short term, wat i did to get rid of them was cut down on carbs, had loads of water loads of fruit and veg washed my face every morning and night, used spot cream, went in the sun and then when they cleaned up used cocoa butter scar syrum and i havent even got a mark now. so good luck and dont let it effect ur confidence and u will still be attractive.

its just like this really thick oily stuff which reduces the appearance of scars, maybe u dont have it in belgium if not then bio oil is also very effective.

cocco butter skin cream is something actually used for strech marks, but I heard it somewhat helps with acne. They should have some at a local drug store, even in belgum. Mostly pregnate women, and bodybuilders use it.

As far as the acne, I would recomend (besides creams, which you already take) is to get chemical peals and hipodemabrations. These are both Spa SPAM. They dont come cheap, but they really help. I had a big problem with acne about two years ago and they really helped. The first one will help with acne, and the second will help with scarring.

Also, and this is actually what got rid of my acne almost completely, is to cut off all the oily foods. Chocolate, pizza, deep fried foods, etc. I stoped eating oily foods, and my acne vitually dissapeared. I'll get a zit every now and then just like everyone else, but it is definatly no longer a problem. And cause of the demabrations, I was left with no scarring.

I always wondered if acne was caused by self confidence. All through school the popular folk didn't have acne (or much), yet the unpopular regular people had acne, some worse than others.

I had it really bad in High school for Acne. I also had no self confidence. I used the pills and the cream and for the life of me I can't say they worked that well.

I have more self confidence now and I barely get acne (only after I shave)

Does this sound plausible?

Perhaps...It's kinda the same way around here...maybe it's indirect ??

It's just a wild guess but I think our acne kinda reflects our stress-level ??
When u are not confident, u stress more over little things like talking to a girl...

No Confidence -> More Stress -> More Acne ??
Confidence -> Less Stress -> Less Acne ??

I have had some acne in the past, but obviously preferred no acne, and the thing that I have found works best is going to see a dermatologist. There is a chemical peel that removes the top layer of skin (its nowhere near as brutal as it sounds.) It makes your face red for a day or two, but makes a big improvement by basically removing any minor imperfections. At the same dermatologist, I also get what they call 'blue light SPAM'. I go under the light created from the special bulbs for about 15 minutes, and it greatly reduces the oil produced in pores on my face. These 2 SPAM together make a HUGE difference for me, and it only takes 1 appointment a month.

There's an old saying "What you think about, you bring about" So maybe if you think your ugly, the universe will work with your thoughts and help you become ugly.

So keep thinking about bringing sexy back.

Ya i had really bad acne for like 4 years almost. i decided to try Accutane and that shit WORKS! It is probably the most effective acne SPAM available but only take it if there are no other solutions.
The way i see it, and its been proven, looks dont matter than much. However, i still want clear skin, i work out to develop a nice body and i try to look good every time i step out of the house. All these things make me more confident and thats whats most important.

Yea, I had really bad acne in high school, and I went on the accutane course as well. The accutane really is only for the last resort kinda med. It's really strong, but has lots of negative side effects associated with it. In order to get it you must see a dermatologist.

When I was on it, I was required to get a blood test done every month to monitor my kidneys and functions of all that. My derm DISCOURAGED drinking while I was on it, as it only adds stress to your liver which will already be under a lot of stress from the accutane. Also it can cause birth defects, so women have to go through a lot more in order to be able to take it (2 different types of BC, and various other things). You also cannot give blood while on the course, nor for a certain amount of time once finished with it. (I think its 1 year, but I'm not sure)

Some side effects that I had were really really REALLY dry lips. I always had to have chap stick or lip balm with me, and applied it at least 50 times a day. I pretty much lost all the feeling in my lips. Kinda like having chapped for the whole time that your on it. (One course is generally 6 months long depending on the severity of your acne). Also some other side effects I had were really dry skin, so had to moisturize everyday, and sore joints and back, so physical activites were a little bit more of a chore. There are other possible ones, but I did not get them.

I had to go on accutane twice actually. The first time it worked great, within 2 or 3 months my acne was pretty much gone. After the course I felt great...but about 4 or 5 months later, it started to come back again, and go so bad that I decided to do another course of accutane. The second time around went wonderfly, and with a few less side effects.

It has now been 8 months since I took the course, and I'm relatively acne free. About 5 months afterwards I did start to see some popping back up, but I've started a Benzoyl Peroxide routine that keeps it at bay, so other than the occasional pimple or two, I'm good. The routine I use for washing my face and stuff now can be found at acne.org. My only complaint now is that I have some scarring leftover, but I will have to take care of that soon as well.

Well I hope this helps. If your considering accutane, just make sure you research it first, and decide whether or not you are willing to go through all of the negative things that come along with it. I am glad that I did it, and have a lot more confidence now that my skin is clear.
