how would you respond to a empty question

if a girl you knew but didt talked to suddenly asked you a empty question like "do you know where is x ?" how would you respond ? by empty i mean she dosent really care about the answer she just wants to talk to you

It's almost like you're asking this question just because you want to talk to us. Seriously, I don't get this...but to answer your question, give her the answer. If you want to continue talking to her, then keep talking...if not, go about your day.

Tell her the answer first "Go straight then take a right....."
Then follow by asking a question immediately "You on a vocation here?". If she just wanted to talk to you she'll respond positively and you are IN. Then you can game her as you'd normally do.
And if she doesn't, then it means she really just wanted to know the direction. :)
