There is the marketing part of it naturally but also much of it is in your head.
There are different levels of skill and it takes time and pain to learn them well. At least for the common rAFC. Basically, our standard user is in need of guidance and has big problems both socially and emotionally. A shy guy without confidence who hasnt left his parents cellar in a year and hang out with the nerdy guys at school isnt gonna just learn stuff without a long hard path.
What I agree with you on is that many "gurus" act as if their path is the only right path. That sucks but thats how money is made, by competing.
I used to suck at this, I sucked so bad that it was sad. It took me years and years to get up to my present level, whatever that level is. If experienced people seem snobby and talk like they have the only real answer and give out tips and tricks to people, it is because they have experience in that field and try to help. So yeah, sometimes I talk like I know what Im doing, but that is because when I read a post, I see that I know the answer to the question from experience and can help out. Does that mean that I wanna be worshipped? Yes, but not from my fellow PUAs, but from the women I have around me.
