For Sunday night Rye, Kino and I headed up to Orlando to check out Pleasure Island and The House of Blues. The party turned out to really be at the House of Blues so that's where we went.
A 7 set of all women walked up to in front of the house of blues and kino opened them. Rye made his way over, but I was a little intimidated by such a large set so I made my way outside. I opened a two set and we all ended up eating dinner together. Kino and Rye turned out to really lock in with both of the girls so I did my best to DHV for them while they ran game. I mixed in a few interesting stories and routines just for practice but I just wasn't getting anywhere.
After dinner we all headed over to the House of Blues "Industry Night." The entire venue was full of hired guns, shields at maximum! We had to really work hard to open anything. We saw this one guy, a natural, dance with this HB 9 blonde. At first she hardcore IOD'ed his ass, but 3 minutes into his dance they were making out. It was most impressive.
Kino ended up getting proximity from a very cute English girl and he isolated and bounced quickly. Rye and I split up to open sets and on the way we ran into the two set from dinner. We chatted for a few and then I split off to find another set. I opened a 3 set of all girls but made the mistake of only occupying one of the obstacles and the target. Rye came in and took care of the other obstacle for me and we both ran the "Would you date anyone named Howie?" routine just for fun. We would run really old canned material just for laughs throughout the night, a great time!
Anyway, I was doing well but I hadn't quite locked in yet. The girls started to suggest a smoke so I took the initiative and said "Let's go then" and started to walk toward the smoking patio. Somehow the girls ended up in front of us so that Rye and I were following them and I didn't like that one bit. I told them "We might seem you later" and ejected us from the set. Again a mistake, I should have stuck with them, we ended up behind them simply because the club was so packed. Bah! Lessons learned.
After working the dinner set some more I left in search of greener pastures. I opened this two set of foreign girls (I forget where they were from) and they both worked for Disney. I locked in hard with the target but I hadn't occupied the obstacle well enough. When they're friends came the obstacle grabbed my target by the hand and started to drag her away to meet them. My target took a few steps, stopped, looked at me, hesitated, then said with a real torn look, "I have to go meet my friends" and then she was gone. It felt awesome though seeing how much she wanted to stay
At this point the club had gotten too loud and too busy to keep sarging. We wanted to run the apocalypse opener a few times just to see how it worked out but the logistics were all wrong (We had taken a cab there and were staying with kino, the fear of success was high).
I learned alot about being serious vs being playful. I tend to be too high energy and too playful and as such I don't quite get seen as more then just a "fun guy." I'm going to continue practicing turning serious and eliciting more from my targets. I used to believe I shouldn't ask questions of them but that's totally wrong! Ask questions, and then identify with the answers, that's a straight path to attraction!
After the nonstop sarge-a-thon Rye, Kino and I sat by the pool and went over the evening. I can't believe how much I've improved thanks to the advice and pointers being given to me by these two pua's. If I had to pick a word to describe the trip to orlando it would be, Awesome!
