Tried the first one before and normally got, "I dunno...." I promptly stop when I realize it was horrible as a conversation starter, for me, and tends to not hold their attention very long.

Second one, I'm horrible with them, so I avoid tricks. I prefer to swoop in, tell a few funny stories (many of them pulled from mine or a friend's personal experience) and go away, then 'run into them' again later. Unfortunately, not a good choice of tactic, since by then my 'presense/SPAM' that I've emitted during my storytelling are long gone.

The main problem is escalating to comfort and kino, without appearing to direct or too...deceptive(in a bad way - as in evil, horny, perverted, rapist, drugged your drink and drag you back my basement bad way).
