It's true guys.

Canned material is heading six feet under, and VH1 sealed it's fate.

You will be caught with "You got that from Pick up artist, didn't you?". It's gonna happen.

College kids, It's gonna happen.

High School kids, It's gonna happen...eventually. lol.

But seriously, canned openers are dead.

A good majority of newcomers and even our own experienced have run into a cloud of smog on the subject. People are lost. They cant think of anything original.

...I will try to clear that fog right here.

Canned vs. Imprompt

Let us define the words

A)Canned (Adj.) A slang term used to describe something premade,or unoriginal

B)Impromptu (n) Off the top of one's head, spontaneous, situational

EVERYONE, by now, knows about "George being fought over 2 girls" or "Who lies more?"

...no good. Those are dead.

No talk about little kids, no nothing.

Well, those specific lines might be dead, but the ESSENCE behind lives on.

The ESSENCE...is what gives us the fuel to go impromptu.

Instead of saying "I'm thinking about throwing a party, but I cant decide between an 80s theme or a Jungle theme(Dont use that), think "Why does it work, and how can I reword it"?

Find the bigger picture behind the lines. Once you find the bigger picture, you'll find at least 30 more impromptu openers off the top of your head, and, stay with me...1000 more AT THE SITUATION ITSELF!!!

You can comment on the dominant color of the place your in, the energy of the people, the driver who did a u-turn 2 driveways before and almost killed 3 people, including yourself, etc...

Limitless opportunity.

If you're at a frat party, comment on greek life itself. Get your targets talking about what they expected. Talk about a situation you had that sounds like something straight out of Animal House.

If you're in HS,I'll only say this once...OPENERS ARE EXTREMELY,PATHETICALLY EASY!!! Use any gossip going on. There's at least 20 new stories a week, and you cant fail on it. (Of course, bad news is your success is solely determined on rep).

Impromptu. Get to know it. Practice.

That...is the future of opening. With impromptu, it will be DAMN near impossible to get caught with VH1, unless the girl is super smart and a wiseass, in which, reverse it on her.

i agree with this, ive never used canned routines/openers/etc because guys werent the only ones watching The Pick Up Artist. I use impromptu because you wont get caught doing PU techniques

Awsome post man, i hav been struggling a lil wit openers but this post kinda opened my eyes along with what a PUA friend said to me "it really dosnt matter what you say" are something to that effect.

Is it really getting that bad in the states? I can say whatever the hell I want to over here and it works (canned or not), I've found it's all in the nonverbals and the delivery. I have yet to "sarge" in the states, but last time I was there I had no problems talk to the multitudes of strange and beautiful creatures known as "women". I haven't seen the VH1 show that everyone on here keeps talking about, but do guys actually go out and use, word for word, what they read and see on tv to the point that all females know what's up? I guess my real question is this...wouldn't it be easier for a real PUA to swoop in and work their magic after the local female population has been not just exposed but numbed to the rAFC or fake PUA canned crap? Again, I have yet to experience any of this, so this is just an outsider's neutral view of the situation.

This is the reason that I only use routines that I have invented myself, use it for a short time and don't share it until I'm done with it.

But, so you know, canned material is any material that you have memorised, it doesn't have to be something that other people created or use. Anything that you come up with earlier and have memorised for use later is canned.

Very true indeed. Impromptu will get you much better results.

I look at it this way -

Try and come up with something that fits your style the most and girls like to talk about. And then you'll have come up with a good impromptu.

I also agree that VH1's pick up artist was not a good idea.
