Was wondering how i should approach going for the meetup, she lives 1 hour away,

Would maybe be unreasonable to ask her to travel 1 hour to my city, guess we could meet somewhere half way but then we would be in a city where we both have never been and might be weird/boring , or am i looking into this too much?

If you're going to see her, why would you bring up how long it would take you to get there. If you say you'll meet her at 8 then leave at 7. No need to discuss how long it takes you to get there.

How hard is it during the middle of one of you guys texting sessions to say " We should hang out.. When are you free? "
Now I am a strong advocator of Video Chatting.. Video chatting pretty much acts as a first date. Its all comfort building. Even if you're meeting girls online, you literary can go from a phone call or a video chat to having the girls come directly to your home without having to have met you anywhere outside of the phone call/video chat. It can happen with texting too, but the success rate just isn't nearly as high.

So i'd suggest face timing her, talking and then suggesting you two hangout during the facetime call.
