So right now I'm at a place where I feel as though I've plateau in my game and pick up journey. The last few weeks I have really been reflecting on what my next goals are going to be with game from the place that I have currently got too. I'm the type of guy that wants too constantly progress, and as I was chatting with a mate of mine today about not staying 'average' and what it really takes to become great, we pondered a few ideas.

We came to the conclusion that what separates an average person from a great person is that people who really achieve greatness pay attention to the small things. They put in that extra hour or two when it is needed in order to excel. Micheal Jordan is a great example of this, he used to stay an hour or so after each training session with his team and practice his shots on his own. Years later and he was one of the best basketballers in the game, even years after his retirement, people still remember his name at an iconic status.

This isn't any accident. Greatness like this doesn't just happen out of nowhere. It is a product of a good work ethic. Which brings me onto the next point... people who achieve greatness stay committed. Even when shit isn't going in the right direction. Where most people would give up and retreat, people who really achieve will keep a long term goal in mind and keep going even when shit gets rough. They understand that without being on the edge of your comfort zone, you are never going to grow past it. They do not see the feeling of fear as being detrimental or 'scary', they see it as a driving force and use the emotion positively to fuel them in critical moments. Where others would retreat and accept a life of boring comfort, people of high achievement will seek out challenges because they understand that they are the key to growth and success.

And my final point which blends in with the first. They understand that we humans are creatures of habit. That our habits are what make our character, and our character is ultimately what shapes our destiny. All the small things that we do in our daily lives will ultimately shape our future. A man who chooses to slump on the sofa most nights of the week whilst eating poor food and watching mediocre television programmed can't expect anything else of his future. Whereas a man who makes sure that he does a little exercise each night, puts decent foods into his body and works on his passion for a few hours has a very good chance of achieving something great. Time will always tell.

The same goes for approaching girls. Seducing women is nothing but a habit. You can only learn the pick up by putting yourself through the process. Making mistakes and fixing them as you go along. There are no shortcuts to becoming great, it takes practice and perseverance. But life is to be lived and experienced to its fullest...

Most people can achieve average, but only a small few really ever achieve great.

I thought the conversation me and my friend had earlier was pretty provoking, so I thought I'd share some of the conclusions we came too here. I'm pretty sure there are a thousand and one other factors that contribute to achieving great things, but these are just a few. On that, I'm going to put in some work on a couple of things I'm working on.

I think understanding what you need to improve, and having a good process are the most important steps. If you know what to improve, and how to do it, all you need is execution and time.

No doubt that this is very important aswell.

But you will never persevere to your more difficult and larger goals if you don't maintain the right attitude and make a full commitment to the process.

It is like lolifting weights, if cannot make a rep at the start 20 kg, so start with 5. Choose rational goals to archieve and as long as you reach your goals aim for better.
