In need of a general opinion here, as I'm just getting back into the game.

Been texting this chick, she lives quite far away from me but where I used to live, but we know each other from young and haven't spoken since.

We text and she'll show me some investment by sending me pictures of what shes doing but her favourite subject is obviously herself, she doesn't really ask me what I'm doing. She can be vague and doesn't try to continue the conversation sometimes. So I'll leave her and text her again in a couple of days and she'll be hot again. She never texts me first (I don't really expect her to). If I try to hint at meeting up with her she just ignores it and doesn't take the bait. The other night she sent me a blunt text and I didn't reply... 4 hours later she sends me a picture of her in her bra. Then I message her saying words to the effect of 'thanks for that, now i'm going to have trouble sleeping tonight.' She sends me a pretty blunt message back.

I'm of the opinion without sounding too much of a dick, she knows that I'm a bit out of her league and shes testing me. I'm not looking for a long term thing with her and I don't think she wants any long term thing.

Who thinks I'm wasting my time?

RED FLAGS:

She is showing disinterest with abrupt replies, she lives a million miles away,

The only part that makes me think the COULD be something, is that she is sending you pics of her in her bra to you. Personally, i think she is an attention seeker but I would have to meet her to know for she but that is what I expect. Attention whores especially do this with guys that live far away because it's less chance of you bumping into her in the mall and being awkward.

Are your options lacking that much that there is 1000's of girls outside your house right that could be looking for a new guy but you're just playing it safe with an old high school crush that didn't even go anywhere that lives miles away..

Do yourself a favour, ask her out, figure out the logistics, and then you will have your answer if she likes you or not. You're wasting time trying to look for signals. Instead, put the pressure on for it to sink or swim so you can get on with your life. For example:

You- Hey, i'm in town for the weekend, fancy grabbing a drink with me?

She will say yes or no, or ignore, either way you get your answer of her TRUE intentions. I will leave it to you to handle the hotel logistics.

Your response to her sending the you the bar picture is boring as fuck.

Just tell this girl you like where this is going and offer a meetup sometime if it is logistically possible. At best just get her to come to you, you will know for sure then if she is really down. If she accepts then you could be in for a fun weekend. If she beats around the bush at all just delete her number and cut her off completely.

Yeah to be fair I agree with you Dragula, just always wanted to bang her to be quite frank. Think she is an attention whore. We'll see I'm gonna just see what she's saying to a drink and if not then duck out.

Fair play Natural Dec, it was an average response but like I said I'm still getting back into the swing of things. Out of interest what would you have said?

1. 'Very nice, I'm starting the get the impression you're nothing but talk though '

or

2. 'Not bad, I'm sure you could do a lot better though'

Personally I would use the second response myself. But it would be hard to pull off correctly, so for yourself I would stick to the first response because it is a lot safer and less likely to screw up. Although I don't know how experienced you are, so maybe you could actually calibrate the second response if you're good...

All things i would've normally said, just remember what I would've done is half the battle. Being in a relationship for 4 years the blade is not nearly as sharp.
