when I ask a girl from directions, i usually follow by saying "you must be french"(or spanish, etc... )
but when they look and speak English just like myself, I have nothing to say to them. So what other transitions are there that I could say?

one way is to stack openers

a one i would use would be a compliment "by the way, i love how you did your hair. not some uptight bun"

then you can go in for her name

the best way to go from here is an open ended question the one i use is "where are you from?" no matter he question ask her likes/dislikes about it and its easy to break rapport on it.

her: I'm from Arizona
me: omg, i love Arizona tea!

her: i'm from Chicago
me: Chicago, so all you do is eat pizza and drink beer?

Drew's got it right. You could stack openers or transition and stating that she's really friendly and asking where she is from. No matter what they say, I usually disqualify them from wherever they are from to break rapport and create some attraction.

Stop focusing on them so fucking much. Stop watching youtube jackoff vids of guys fawning over the girl while they direct approach with "you you you you you".

After the directions are given just tell her she's cute and get some info about her. Tell her some info about you.

Then close for the # because you are a busy man and you have to run.

That is all.

(A cute girl is used to being fawned over, from the time she was 3 or so (as far back as she can remember).

So make the interaction more about YOU and behave as if she isn't that big of a deal and she WILL take notice).
