Hello, everyone.

On a recent thread I opened on how to build up sexual tension several people mentioned deepening the tonality of my voice. I believe this is done by speaking from the diafragm?

Anyway, this is something I have been meaning to get into, not only for pick up but also for school presentations and social life in general. I also speak too fast and with a slight lisp, so a few speach exercices are in order.

Can anyone recomend some youtube videos, websites, or something with exercices to help me change my voice? Maybe free acting courses or something?

I have no doubt that a google search will be better to look for advice on lisps and speech issues.

I've found that my voice has grown more and more resonant as I've grown into having higher and higher levels of self confidence over time. You naturally speak with more conviction and authority the more you believe in the words you are saying. If you watch your favorite speakers you'll notice that there voice is a bit more powerful after a couple years of speaking. Check out there older speeches versus their newer speeches. I don't think they are all taking speech classes or reading "how to deepen your voice" books. I think that by putting themselves out there more they are naturally cultivating a more resonant voice.

My voice is a product of the conviction in what I'm saying.

Not to say that being more confident doesn't help, but I'd bet they do take classes to improve their speaking if that's their profession. Singers have vocal lessons too.

Hell any politician is taught very specifically how to give speeches. You can notice them all using the same hand gestures and such, which iirc was all copied from Kennedy in the first place.

Sure, your problem is conditioning. But what kind of conditioning is important in this case? You want to do something and repeat it enough, to the point where it becomes instantaneous and instinctual to you. For the voice part you want to test your voice, maybe in front of a mirror, by performing speeches you thought of on the fly, without any pressure. Increase the tone and gravity of the speech gradually, increasing the intensity of this voicing exercise gradually, since what matters isn't really how much time you've spent on it, but that you did so and you slowly made your body capable of doing something that was too alien for it before.

Well, the problem there is that there are just too many things and since everyone here is more or less into self-improvement I was wondering if someone had any experience with this and could sugest something that works.

Thanks everyone for the answers and sugestions.
