When is it good to say that? "Your pretty, but not my type gig." I said that to a girl on POF and not sure if it back fired. It went something like this.


Me: Wow! You're GORGEOUS, too bad your not my type!
Her: What's your type?
Me: Beauty is common. Less common is good energy, a great personality, and a positive outlook. You've got two of the three...
Her: You can't say that too people, I thought you were going to say something else but you said that. You can't say that to a person you haven't ever talked with before like they're not a good person.

Where do I go from here?

Wow. A Mystery routine. Word for word.

I think you're supposed to use that a little later in the interaction... Like, after you've actually said 3 words to her and know if her energy is good, and what her outlook on life is like... Not that any of it even matters -- I get that it's a line/routine - but using it as an opener doesn't work...

What would be a better way to start things off? I've been just taking other peoples ideas and seeing what works and what doesn't and modfiey as need afterwards.

Ya the routine itself is fine... (A little gamey, but hey - whatever... As long as you aren't transitioning from routine to routine, you'll be fine)... You just shouldn't be using it to open a conversation, as the actual content of the routine implies you actually have spoken to the girl and you know a little about her.

It doesn't make much sense to basically say "Hey there - nice to meet you. You don't really have a positive outlook but you have a great energy" without actually knowing if she has a positive outlook and/or a great energy... ya know?

Try "hello" and smile... introduce yourself and shake her hand... Then talk a bit. THEN you can use this routine/line.

Sorry, I didn't clarify earlier, I used it on POF, she just message again and still going on like I wasn't interested at first blah blah blah I though you could be a nice guy because you might be looking for a specific girl but your just a jerk blah blah blah. I'm not sure whether or not she's in but I'm not sure. I haven't messaged her back yet.

Lol what kind of canned shit is this? You're joking? How could you send that without thinking over the fact that logically her response would be what it is. You don't even know her..

Preying on low selfeteem is a nerd technique that got popular because it works. But it always never really gets you far in the long run. I don't know much about mystery, but he does sound like a "revenge of the nerds" kind of dude.
