Depending on where you are, it may actually be cheaper just to pay for sex then to try picking up girls. For me, I live a $6 1.5 hour train ride from all the action. Then I gotta go to a bar or a club, so that's around $15-50 for food/drink/cover charge, etc. Then I gotta get her out of the place and somewhere private (usually Karaoke) so that's another $20-30. Then to a love hotel, which can be anywhere between $50-120 depending on how long you want to stay. You are most likely going to end up spending $200. Meanwhile You can easily find smoking hot girls online who will have sex with you for $200+hotel fee, so for $50 more than what you would pay for a hookup at a club you can just get a damn hooker and go to a love hotel during their happy hour.

It may be "unhealthy" but it's not my attitude. It's a straight-up fact of living in a Tokyo suburb 7km away from the nearest major station and 2km away from the nearest minor station. Now if I were rolling in dough and could afford to live somewhere near Shibuya or Shinjuku I wouldn't be having this issue.

I'm going to preface this by saying that I've been rotating in and out of the four stages of culture shock on a daily if not hourly basis for the past two weeks, so I'm a bit scattered and salty. It hits everyone at some point.

I admit my game is weak, but I am not using these facts to justify that. You are trying to read too much into what I say. Hopefully next year things will be better, but for the moment I am on an exchange teaching program where I have no say in where I get to live because the housing is provided for per my contract. I work at a college, and I live right next to the college. If I didn't have to worry about getting fired I would game the shit out of the thousands of girls who grace these grounds every day. I've gotten digits and dates from bars and international parties, but a ONS or even sex on a date just doesn't work without having a pad in extreme proximity.

And yes I'm white, but that alone doesn't mean anything. If you look up game in Japan, you'll find posts from 2008-2011 saying all you have to do is be white and go into a club, meanwhile what little you can find that's dated 2014 says that the "myth of the white god" is long dead. That asshat pikachu PUA certainly didn't help the situation here either.

To put things in perspective, see image. $5-7 one way, typical club cover charge is $30. Some are as low as $15 but then they get aggressive about getting you to buy their $10 drinks. Lowest love hotel price for 3 hour use is $70, $100-120 for overnight and I guarantee you will not be going dutch.

Considered it, but extremely uneasy about it because I am the very first person on this exchange program (professional reputation), I'm not a direct hire by the school and they provide my housing. It's a huge risk to take when I don't know what the rules are and I'm sure as hell not going to try asking. Use your brain, not your dick. I have heard from a few Japanese people that things are strict in Japan and people have been fired for fucking students. Not at this particular school, though. I even had one crazy bitch I met online threaten to call my school and get me fired for "womanizing."

Well, throwing out the chances of getting busted by a colleague or sleeping with a student who might be going to my school (see above about CONSEQUENCES), there are very few people here who aren't middle-aged families or grandmas. Even so, my place is not big enough for hosting a ONS (not to mention slightly creepy looking on the exterior) and is a 20 minute taxi ride from the city center where all the bars are.

Being an ass doesn't do anything either. Hence being defensive. And bullshit. Yes it was my choice to come here for my career but there was no way I could have known about my logistics beforehand.
