Always kind of wondered about this. I tend to think a 4 is like... plain and has some flaw. IE, average but chubby, normal sized ok body, but homely face, etc.
A 3 is like a girl who has *some* attractive feature, like a pretty face but gross body. Maybe sort of cute face and huge tits, but weighs 170lbs.

But I kind of realized, there is actually a huge gap between what I think is a 3 and what is potentially possible.

Rating girls with numbers is a pretty pointless exercise. I understand why people do it; to give stories some kind of context but we should view "bangability" as a binary scale, it's either a Yes ['1'] or a No ['0']. The reason why i say this is firstly because you shouldn't be changing your personality or strategy based on the hotness of the girl. And secondly because the difference between a 7 and a 10 is negligible and actually mostly based on how well the girl dresses, how she carries herself and how good she is at applying makeup. I wear makeup myself sometimes, so I can always tell how much makeup a girl is wearing and what her skin would look like underneath it all. To quote David Blaine, "it's just an illusion".

In answer to your question, a lay is only shameful if she repulses you and therefore can't make your cock hard. Many of my horniest lays were actually what most guys would consider 7's, because I follow my own boner, not what society tells me to find the most attractive.
