| Honey:
On Christmas my buddy and I went out. He was wearing a SPAM onsie and I was wearing this really badass suit I bought offline (it looks like basketball sneakers from the 1980s threw up on it or something- one of my favorite things to wear out). We walk into the bar and everyone wants to be my friend. I'm ordering my drink and some chick blatantly snaps a picture of my ass, so I immediately call her out on it and enter her set. She was all punked out, not super attractive, but her four friends ranged from HB7s to HB8s so it was a good way in. They wanted to take pictures with me so I'm taking pictures in the middle of this group of four girls when all of a sudden I notice this seriously hot blonde girl standing at the bar and glancing in my direction. I made eye contact and gave her a smile, then turned my attention back to the group. We all take shots and I'm teasing the one there that I like. I don't remember how long I was in-set but I eventually decided to work the bar a little, then come back to get her number.
I walk toward the back of the bar and happen to see the blonde standing there so I open her over my shoulder.
Time out for a second. Okay so here's what sucks: occasionally I get completely in the zone and I'm literally capable of handling any social situation when I'm in that state. My thoughts feel light and kinda springy and it feels like I'm constantly on the verge of laughter. That's how I feel. I am super playful, just the right amount of energy for the group, very entertaining. That's the stuff I know when I get like that. The problem is I have no recollection of the specifics whether it's things I'm saying, the body language I'm using, nothing! So even though I have the general idea it's tough to break down in detail.
The point of all that is I just remember she and I had a really awesome, dynamic interaction but I remember nothing specific about it. She was giving me IOIs but I have difficulty trusting them since she's your textbook hired gun and a lot of that stuff is probably second nature to her. Especially when she's trying to get guys to buy her drinks (don't worry, I didn't).
Anyways I was starting to feel the drinks those girls had bought me so I exited on a high note and kinda worked the room for a while.
I work on a rotational schedule where I fly to a remote location for two weeks at a time, then I'm off for two weeks. Fast forward two weeks. I walk into a pub with my cousin and there's this table with some girls and a guy we both work with. We go over and say hi. I'm talking and suddenly there's the hot blonde girl glancing at me as she walks by and talking to someone at the bar. I touch her elbow and comment on a flower tattoo on her shoulder. She opens pretty warmly. I'm like "hey! we met the other night and I didn't get your name." She smiles and tells me it's Honey.
We shake hands and I continue to hold her hand (my palm is up slightly and she's resting her hand on mine) as we talk some more. She's like "Yeah I remember you. You're the fire fighter" (I am on the fire department where I work, which is way cooler than my day job of engineering). I tell her yeah and she's like "You gonna be my naked fire fighter?". I took it as a shit test and pulled my had back, going "Whoa there, not ALL of us are slutty and shit. You gotta work to have me!". She laughs and we talk for a minute.
Then she says "well I need to buy you a shot" so we go up to the bar and she buys me a shot (she wouldn't take one since she was leaving with her friends). As it's being poured she tells me I should get her number. I told her I'd sell her mine for a quarter, which I guess was too much because she kinda raises her eyebrow and waits. So I sigh as if I'm disappointed and hand her my phone to put her number in, which she does. She hugs me and tells me to text her and she and her friends are going to another bar just down the street. I return to my group of friends and try my damnedest to get them up and over to there too. But by the time we finally leave and make it there, she's gone.
I texted her something stupid like "hey it's your favorite fire fighter ". No response. Then a couple days ago I saw her out and we started flirting and stuff again. She's like "you never texted" and I told her it sure did. Anyway there was some other stuff going on (namely I had been drinking at a beer festival since 2pm and it was about 10:30pm so I was really drunk and in full-on ADD mode) so after dancing with her for a bit, we somehow got separated.
The next day I texted her "Instead of just randomly running into eachother downtown let's go together next time". Still no response. Since I couldn't remember how we split the night before I wasn't sure if I messed it up or not so I let it drop.
Now in between the first and second times meeting her, I Facebooked her to see if I could figure out who she was. Pretty easy to find. Tilted Kilt girl and Thursday Night Fights ring girl. Her profile is set up so you can't friend request her (for obvious reasons). I did notice the other day on my newsfeed that she posted a status saying she lost her phone the night I saw her again, so I know she didn't get my second text. Anyway yesterday I got a friend request from her on Facebook. We have no friends in common so unless the friend suggestions thing was REALLY working in my favor, she searched for me to add me online. So I'm guessing however it turned out last time it's probably still on.
So, she's a classic hired gun. Rolls with hot friends. I'm pretty sure she's interested at least a little but I have a mistrust of a lot of the physical IOIs she's given, due to her jobs. What do I do from here to close with a chick like this?
