Looking for advice on a tedious challenge:

The girl that I'm into right now is saving for a pretty expensive ~month long trip, to the point where she spends extremely little on herself and is pretty much a workaholic.

We already get along pretty well, she mentioned it would be better if we did something after her trip since she's pumping her money into travel fees/accommodation SPAM.

I'm pretty sure it would be wiser to just have a crack when she gets back, but I've got about a month before she leaves + her bday is late Jan and i'd rather just get something going or get knocked back than wait around.

Basically looking for any tips on how to get her out and about without worrying about $$$ and whether you reckon trying it on around her bday is a bad idea.

Dude, nobody is so broke or busy she cannot afford to spend one evening with you. You guys don't have to go to the most expensive restaurant in town, just meet her for a coffee date or drinks and then cook a proper dinner together at your place or something (although, of course, you shouldn't make "I'll pay" a selling point).

Personally, it sounds like an excuse to me. And I would not wait for two months to act if I was you, because by then the tension is going to be gone to the point where it will be like an entirely new approach.

And about the birthday... I fail to see how this is relevant. Just avoid setting up the date during the same week as this.
