Sorry but OP is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read.
The idea that you should climb up a tree and kick away the ladder ONLY works if you're the sort of person who likes that lifestyle.
I'm older than most of you (29) and have lived both at home and with parents.
So you're 29 years old and you still live at home with your parents? I believe that disqualifies you from giving advice on the subject matter.

Moving out and being broke doesn't automatically make you a money making machine.
Yes it does. Or it doesn't.
Fridge is empty. Rent is do. Sink or swim? What are you going to do? Clearly, you're not the swimmer. Run to the safety boat!

i also have lots of friends who lived with their parents 4-5 years after graduating college/university, saved money, and are now in a great financial position.
I'm sure you do. Now they are almost 30 and need viagra. This post is titled "How to Move Out of Your Parent's House." Not... "How to Play it Safe in Life."

And the idea that getting a sales job will somehow magically make you a super PUA is also ridiculous.
Sure, it may help SOME people with social anxiety but it is absolutely not necessary in order to become good with women.
Nothing will magically make you anything. But sales is a skill that has more in common with picking up girls than anything else out there that I've ever found. Fuck me if I'm wrong... but isn't approaching strangers, building rapport, gathering information, overcoming obstacles and objections, using creativity to close deals, and my ABSOLUTE favorivite... actually developing a "closer" personality ALL things that you would say are involved in picking up girls?
So how would learning those skills NOT be beneficial?
Plus, If you ever want to do anything aside from being a monkey in a system and you want to work for yourself... You're going to NEED to learn how to sell.
That's why I'm so against school. I don't believe in just producing a bunch of robots.

Of course, I believe OP is right that a university degree does not guarantee success. However, it is a proven FACT that university graduates earn more than those without a degree.
People who are more committed to a successful future will typically go to school because that's what our parents tell them to do. So your statistic is flawed. Most people who make the decision these days to not go to college don't really have much ambition and desire to do things with their lives.
I'm saying instead of waste your time in school... Get yourself a REAL WORLD EDUCATION. Quit playing it safe.

Not only that, doing something JUST for the money will eventually leave you unsatisfied and wishing to change your job.
The world revolves around sales. Look around you. Everything/everyone is being sold. Might as well learn how to get good at what makes the world go round, right?

Rather than saying "skip school" I think a much better idea would be "evaluate what you want to do and how it will make a decent salary".
What I'm saying is think for yourself and don't make a quarter million dollar decision because your parents told you what to do with your life. Start being a man young and make your own decisions. Check this video out.. It will help you understand the other side of things.

Please re read my statement and tell me where I said I still live with my parents.

Interesting that you would make such an assessment when you could not even correctly interpret my first response. But please, do carry on making your judgements.

That is quite likely correct. In fact, I echoed a similar position in my post. My point still stands - being good at sales does not make you any better with women. Sure, some of the skills are transferrable - but these skills can be developed without ever having to spend one day as a "salesman".

So your statistic is flawed.
My statistic is not "flawed". You simply refuse to accept because you disagree. At least one job where I've worked, pay was tied to qualifications. The more highly qualified you are, the higher your base salary will be.

Your inability to see nuances is both amusing and disturbing.
While I was "in school" I have studied in two different countries in two different continents. I have met people, formed bonds, made friends with people from at least four. I have experienced various cultures that I would never have been a part of.
In addition, I have gained valuable experience working part time with the universities I have studied at, including
1. SALES rep for their alumni contribution programme
2. Computer training to work in the computer lab
3. Experimental research in my field (psychology)
These were PAID positions that also gave me valuable experience.
In addition the first time I went off to study I was on my own, having to balance my own budget, look for accommodation etc.
I will agree that many people do follow a set path when pursuing higher education, but to outright state that school is useless shows your absolute ignorance at how a higher education can be an amazing tool for growth and development.
Peace, love, and chocolate.
I'm out.
