I have done a lot of reading through books and forums, even though now i realize that was not the best idea.

But either way, as lame as this sounds, i have studied so much stuff that it's almost overwhelming. It's gotten confusing because some guru's say certain things work while other guru's say that those things are completely wrong.

It mess's with my game now because i over think things way to much. How do you guys distinguish between things that work and things that don't when there are so many things to try?

You should do more infield than theory.

Fitness and nutrition is another industry that is guilty of paralysis of analysis and they all seem to just contradict each other.

Do yourself a favour and empty your brain next time you approach a new girl. Then when you come across ACTUAL sticking points, you can simply google or ask for advice of each hurdle and pick one technique/tactic/mindset that suits your personality/character.

These days, I prefer general mindsets, for example, 'assume the girl will be attracted' - this is great advice and will automatically talk to girls with the right frame of mind that everything she is doing she is doing to chase you.

Baby steps. There is no point learning 3sum game when you're still stuck with approach anxiety.

You'll learn more from spending time with girls than you will reading any book or watching any youtube video.

When I started this journey in my late teens early 20's I would consume every book/forum (101) I could find. It made AA even worse. The best way to get good is just raw practice and experience. You learn way faster through experience how life works, not reading about it.

there is 3 main problems with studying too much pickup materials

1) most importantly it stops you going out, experience is the best teacher information is only good when you mix it with experience. think of it like trying to write a computer program you buy hundreds of books but you have never been on a computer. so you still dont know how to do it until you get onto a computer and gain experience.

2) it becomes very confusing, confusion is the reason why people never get started with a task you study something get confused and never get started. plus theres so many teachers and they all teach a different way of thinking as examples mystery method is different from rsd and speed seduction is different from abcs, and mehow is different from pua training and so on an so on. if your trying to cram all of that in your head then there will be nothing but confusion

3) finally it makes you way too analytical about pickup, and i understand that well because i was very analytical about pickup. the main reason guys get analytical and study loads and loads of material is the hatred of rejection, they study materials hoping to perfect it before they go out into the field hoping to come up with a surefire way to get 100% results without rejection its also because they hope to be able to react to anything that gets thrown their way. as a reality check there is no way to anticipate what will get thrown your way because there is no sure way to know what is going on inside their head

To be honest, i don't really see many PU guys using game per sei. The only thing you should actively learn in my opinion is the 2 big anxiety sticking points. Approach and pulling the trigger.

Once you get a little competence with those 2 big hurdles then the world is your oyster at this points. Then just find the girls that dig you (approaching them) and then act accordingly (escalation)

At this point it is just maintaining being non needy which is instant fix once you learn not what to do and improving your fundamentals to find more girls that like you.

You can sprinkle in the qualification/push pull stuff for a little benefit but these in my opinion are just like creatine regarding gym supplements. They are just a supplement to your discipline of sticking to your nutrition plan and working out consistently (Equivalence is approaching and escalation)

Perhaps make a rule to yourself to incentivise.

For every 2 hours of theory, there has to be 3 hours of practical.

So your job is not to get into KJ debt

Pretty much as everyone else says, you just need to go and do it. From whatever advice you've seen, make a plan that you think right now makes sense and feels good to you, and go and do it a lot. A lot being absolute min. 20 approaches a week (how many approaches you can do obviously varies on the environment but the main point being that you should do like double of what you think is reasonable).

Once you have done a particular type of game a lot, you will be able to sift advice much quicker and you'll be going "right I remember when this happened to me".

And you will mess it up a lot. Like with everything, you learn best by doing it...
