Yesterday night I was out with a good friend of mine and I wanted to try '' the fight from outside" opener.

Unfortunately for me, it didn't work, more specific the set was just bored.

The truth is that it was a loud night club, so if you didn't lean in to talk on her ear she wouldn't hear a thing.
So, I came over the shoulder, I touched the target's shoulder, I leaned in and I told her :

Me: Hey, did you see the fight from outside?

She: What?

Me: Did you see the fight outside?

She: Do you think this is a good way to start a conversation with someone?

Me: What? I just heard something about a fight between two girls...

She: Let them fight.

And then I just turned my back to her and I left.

I have to be honest, I didn't respect the "3 seconds rule". I went to her after 3 minutes or so after I saw her, and she did see me already.

So, do you have any suggestions? Any comments about this try of mine?

She's probably heard that opener before ....more than once. There were 1000000000000000 other ways you could have situationally opened her. Be improvisational. Bring up something relevant to where the two of you are.

Or if you must just tell her she's cute and you had to say hi to her.

But "did you see the fight" or other indirect openers that are not contextually relevant, don't do those.

Also based on her initial reply I'm fairly certain that you were not opening in a manner that you were communicating your interest to her implicitly. You weren't sure how her reaction would be. OWN that you are the man and that women love you paying any attention to them at all, and you may find that even "did you see the fight" style openers start working well for ya.

Sounds like you have read 'The Game' and think thats the best way to go about life. It most definitely is not - yes for beginners its ok to build up some sort of ambition and drive to approach.

Personally if you turned round and said -

Hi how are you people? with an outstretched hand and a smile you would have done better.
