How to not pay for girl without looking stingy?

yesterday I went on a date and the girl showed up hungry and insisted we should go to a restaurant. I didn't want to look stingy so I paid but it was very expensive for a guy who is studying full time :(. How can I next time let her pay for her half without looking stingy?

its difficult, but look if its a coffe, a beer and icecream, you should pay, its not expensive and its something like you are friendly, but whe are in a moment where girls and mans have money and if you go to a expensive place let her pay her part.

Yeah, cheap dates man... If you asked her out, then just pay (particularly on the first date...)

Second/third dates... yeah, then you should maybe split or hopefully she's a good girl and just says "my turn this time"...

Side note: consider it a red flag if she doesn't at least offer to pay, or reach for her purse as sort of a gesture...
