Hi,

My name is Adam, a writer from Esquire, the men’s lifestyle magazine. We’re planning a feature in Spring next year on the ten-year anniversary of The Game. It’ll basically be what happened to the main characters and how the community developed in this country since the book first came out.

Loads of magazines and newspapers have done articles on PUAs, but they’re all pretty much the same: guy goes along to a bootcamp, tries his hand at the techniques, fails and does a write-up. This will be more on the story behind the story, of how this community took off, how it’s had an enormous influence on dating worldwide (especially with things like internet dating) and how words from the book have now become part of most men’s vocabulary.

I interviewed Richard last week and he suggested posting on here. If anyone knows somebody I should talk to, could recommend anything I should read or wants to get in touch, let me know!

Cheers guys,

Adam

I would love to get in touch.

As you know, a lot of Pick Up Artistry in main stream media has a bad spin. As you said, it is about guys who went to a program but used the industry to gain attention to fuel other ventures or the negative aspects are reported on.

If I were personally doing a piece or series on the Seduction community, and please forgive my audacity, I would not neglect the negatives but try to grasp the reality of this being a hot bed of internet marketing.

A lot of 'experts' promise solutions to psychological issues man would have and peddle promises of greatness if you only buy a new program.

The truth lies somewhere in the haze of the landscape of the 'secret' community. That truth is, guys who really use the advice of the Seduction community either leave the community after they have found a girlfriend or wife, or teach other men how to do so. A few notable Pick Up Artists have left the community after finding someone, notably Geoff from the company Real Social Dynamics.

The Seduction community ultimately is a male empowerment movement, for those who feel that they were not properly prepared for the ever changing landscape of the world in relation to women, life, and people.

Most people can relate to feeling nervous at an interview, feeling social pressure, or feeling out of place in a new environment and around new people. Some people learn to socialize and handle these things young, but in the booming age of the internet we see a shift from people being less proficient in real interactions and more inept as a by product.

This market is the promise to fix the inability to have meaningful and successful interactions with people.

As far as venturing into the lives of characters after The Game, I must regretfully inform you every source online will be prolific with bias and slander. The Game is a fictional book based loosely off of real people, and due to this some people were placed in a positive or a negative light which may not have been accurate.

If the piece is more of a 'were are they now' type, some characters will be easy to sniff out. An online search will be able to decipher the real names of characters such as Ross Jeffrey, Hypnotica, Mystery, Tyler Durden, and so on. Most of these characters are still in the industry in some form attempting to make money off of men trying to get good with women.

Other characters, such as Sin, will be impossible to locate. The creative freedom of the book and nature of the community at that time makes it all but impossible to locate.

Good luck, with what ever option you choose. You can reach me via email at lifepua@gmail.com if you want some more answers.

let's just pray that you continue to do what lousy pseudo journalists do and give a bad perspective of pua. it's great that it has such a bad reputation and that you fuel that very wrong idea. more the better since with more afcs there's less competition.
too bad the average joe doesn't get the full picture. but anyway I don't care about others. looking forward to see the interview with Richard. I hope you don't miss quote him or manipulate his words.

Adam,

I've been involved in the PUA community ever since before The Game was released and I've seen all the trends come and go.

I can give you a lot of insight as to how it evolved, how different it is today, the good and bad sides to it, and (hopefully) where it's going.
